Movers Knightsbridge Modern Slavery Statement
This Modern Slavery Statement is made by Movers Knightsbridge in respect of the financial year ending 31 December and sets out the steps we are taking to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking in our business operations and supply chains. Movers Knightsbridge is committed to conducting all activities ethically, responsibly, and in full compliance with applicable laws and recognised best practice.
Our Business and Supply Chains
Movers Knightsbridge provides professional moving and relocation services to residential and commercial clients. Our operations rely on a range of suppliers and contractors, including vehicle and equipment providers, packaging and materials suppliers, storage facilities, outsourced labour providers, facilities services, and professional advisers. We recognise that risks related to modern slavery may arise in logistics, transport, warehousing, and the wider services we procure, particularly where subcontracted labour or extended supply chains are involved.
Zero-Tolerance Policy on Modern Slavery
Movers Knightsbridge operates a clear zero-tolerance approach to all forms of modern slavery, human trafficking, forced labour, debt bondage, child labour, and exploitation. We will not knowingly engage with any business, supplier, or individual involved in such practices. Our commitment is embedded in our internal policies, supplier expectations, and day-to-day decision-making. All employees and representatives are expected to act with integrity and to place the safety, dignity, and rights of individuals at the centre of our operations.
Policies and Governance
Our leadership team is responsible for overseeing the implementation of this statement and related policies. Internal procedures set out our expectations relating to ethical conduct, human rights, recruitment, and the treatment of workers. We aim to integrate modern slavery considerations into our wider risk management and compliance frameworks so that potential issues are identified and addressed at an early stage.
Supplier Standards and Due Diligence
We expect all suppliers and contractors to uphold standards equivalent to our own. As part of our supplier onboarding and review processes, we seek information about ownership, employment practices, use of subcontractors, and geographical sourcing. Where we identify higher-risk categories, such as labour agencies, cleaning or logistics subcontractors, or suppliers sourcing products from higher-risk regions, we apply enhanced scrutiny.
Supplier Audits and Monitoring
Movers Knightsbridge is developing a structured programme of supplier audits to monitor compliance with our anti-slavery standards. These audits may include document reviews, site visits where appropriate, and verification of worker terms and conditions. We reserve the right to conduct announced and unannounced checks, to request corrective action plans, and to terminate relationships with suppliers that fail to meet our requirements or refuse to cooperate. Findings from audits and supplier assessments are used to inform future purchasing and contracting decisions.
Recruitment and Employment Practices
Within our own operations, we strive to ensure that all workers are engaged on fair and transparent terms. We do not charge recruitment fees, we require appropriate right-to-work documentation, and we prohibit the retention of identity documents by the company or its agents. Workers are free to leave their employment in line with contractual and legal requirements, and we do not tolerate intimidation, coercion, or any form of abuse.
Training and Awareness
We are working to increase awareness of modern slavery risks across our business, with a particular focus on managers, procurement personnel, and those who work directly with suppliers and subcontractors. Training and guidance are intended to help staff recognise indicators of exploitation, understand our reporting channels, and respond appropriately and safely to any concerns raised.
Reporting Channels and Whistleblowing
Movers Knightsbridge encourages employees, contractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to raise any suspicions or concerns about modern slavery or unethical conduct. Concerns can be reported through internal reporting lines, including line managers and senior management, or via our whistleblowing procedures, which allow concerns to be raised confidentially. All reports will be taken seriously, investigated promptly where appropriate, and handled sensitively. We will not tolerate victimisation or retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith.
Continuous Improvement and Collaboration
We recognise that tackling modern slavery is an ongoing process that requires continuous improvement and collaboration. Movers Knightsbridge aims to strengthen its processes over time by refining risk assessments, enhancing supplier engagement, and monitoring emerging guidance and best practice. Where possible, we seek to work constructively with suppliers and partners to improve standards and remedy issues, while retaining the right to disengage where serious non-compliance is identified.
Annual Review and Approval
This Modern Slavery Statement will be reviewed at least annually to assess the effectiveness of our actions and to identify opportunities for improvement. As part of this review, we will consider feedback from internal stakeholders, audit outcomes, supplier performance, and any incidents or concerns reported. Updated statements will reflect any material changes to our policies, procedures, or risk profile. This statement has been approved by the leadership of Movers Knightsbridge, who are responsible for ensuring that the commitments set out here are implemented across our operations and supply chains.
